East Bristol Books (EBB) is an independent bookshop located in the Old Market area, embodying the radical, diverse, and community-driven spirit of East Bristol. EBB specializes in:
- Independent & Small Press Publishing:
Highlighting unique voices and overlooked stories. - Translated Literature & Borderless Stories:
Celebrating global perspectives. - Radical Politics: Offering critical and
transformative writings. - Zines, Mags & DIY Culture: Showcasing
creativity from grassroots movements. - Music, Art, & (Too Much) Poetry: An
eclectic blend of cultural expressions. - Exploratory Non-Fiction: Delving into
thought-provoking topics. - Folklore, Landscape, & the Nonhuman World:
Connecting readers to place and environment.
At EBB, we also run three reading
groups (Poetry, Fiction and Politics & History) and frequently host events
such as book launches, poetry readings, and topical discussions. We’ve had
evenings dedicated to the politics of videogames, the poetry of Palestinian
resistance, state violence against Peruvian indigenous groups, Turkish
repression of Kurdish activism. Our space was also used for workshops during
last year’s Anarchist Bookfair (BAB).
